R&D is proud to announce our new line up of Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 reprogramming services. The engineering staff at R&D has developed ECU programs to allow new performance levels to be reached for recreational enthusiasts and racers who are interested in more performance through reprogramming the OEM ECU.

The R&D ECU Reprogram Service is one of the first performance upgrades that should be done to the new RXP-X 260. The RXP 260 ECU has an internal top speed limit governor that is GPS controlled to only allow 67-68 mph. The GPS speed limit governor controls the throttle plate to modulate and restrict airflow CFM volume into the intake plenum which restricts horsepower. R&D has tested and verified that the throttle plate modulation controls and limits the boost pressure to 6-7 pounds.

The R&D ECU Reprogramming Service will produce some serious horsepower and performance upgrade gains with worked over ignition timing map, re-calibrated fuel maps, increased rev limiter functions to allow increased engine rpm’s, and removed GPS speed control which allows maximum boost pressures to be reached. With the increased rev limiter settings and 1-1 throttle ratio allowed, the boost pressure with the stock supercharger will be up to 10 plus pounds allowing the Sea-Doo 260 engine to accelerate much quicker out of the hole and pull harder through the mid range with up to 8 mph speed gain. The altered ignition timing and fuel tables safely maximize horsepower performance output in which most tunes can run with 91 octane pump gas. Generally, there is a 9-10 horsepower gain per pound of boost added, this coupled with reworked ignition and fuel tables, a 30-35 horsepower gain can be expected with the R1-R3 ECU Programs. R&D offers the popular R1-R3 ECU Programs in several Rev Limit setup ranges. Please view the chart offered below for target performance level and rev limit segments offered for specific riding conditions or type of racing.

R&D R1-R3 ECU’s are a vital and necessary key to unlocking and adding performance to the new Sea-Doo 260 engine platform. Whether you are a recreational enthusiasts or an all out racers who is interested in more performance, the R&D ECU Reprogram is an absolute “Must Doo” Upgrade. Fuel tuning or AFR conditions should always be checked and verified as values will always be slightly different from one engine set up to another. Higher performing programs are continuously under development and will be announced through updates on the R&D web site, so stay tuned. Custom program files can also be performed to accommodate just about any combination of performance level or type of fuel being used. R&D strongly suggests that AFR tuning be periodically verified using Innovate Products LM1 or LC1 Logging Kit also available from R&D. R&D Boost Box

The R&D Boost Box for 2011-2013 Sea-Doo 260 offers a plug and play way to quickly and easily disconnect the engine management systems internal GPS speed limiter to allow an incredible five mile per hour top speed gain! The Sea-Doo 260 ECU has an internal acceleration governor and top speed governor that’s GPS controlled to only allow 67-68 mph. The GPS speed governor controls the throttle plate to modulate and restrict airflow into the intake plenum. The throttle plate modulation controls and limits the boost pressure to 7 pounds.

The R&D Boost Box allows maximum boost pressure (10 PSI) to be reached by overriding the O.E.M. internal GPS speed control. With 3 pounds of boost pressure over stock settings this will allow the Sea-Doo 260 engine to accelerate better and pull harder in the upper mid range and top end with up to 5 mph speed gain.

R&D Powershot Adjustable Fuel Tuner

R&D Performance Products, U.S.A. announces the release of the new R&D Powershot fuel injection tunning module and fuel controller. The R&D Powershot fuel injection tuner will deliver increased horsepower, acceleration, and stronger mid-range performance by delivering a higher performing air to fuel ratio (A.F.R.) to the engine. Many of today’s high performance fuel injected four stroke muscle craft have a lean A.F.R. R&D Pro Series 4” Air Filter Kit

The R&D RXP-X Pro Series 4” Air Filter Kit was designed and developed exclusively for the new Sea-Doo RXP-X. The R&D 4” filter kit will unleash restricted low-end, mid-range and peak horsepower by entirely removing the OEM air filtration system and replacing it. The R&D Kit includes a huge 4” “ snap on” rubber velocity stack that allows large 4” Kanaflex flexible hose to be attached to the supercharger and cleanly run to the front of the hull to capture cooler air. The R&D Pro Series 4” Filter Kit has ZERO restriction to the supercharger through its oversized 5.5"x8" filter, which results in quicker acceleration and more power.

R&D C15X Monster Supercharger Wheel

R&D's Billet C15X 15 Pound Boost Monster Compressor Wheel is specifically developed to pump more boost and CFM while utilizing the O.E.M. stock front and back compressor housing assemblies. The R&D Wheel Kit pumps out a solid 15 pounds of boost, which is up 5-8 full pounds of boost over stock depending on accessory tuning parts. In terms of horsepower, the C15 produces a solid 30-40 HP gain. R&D has increased the exducer blade dimensions and deck area to pump as much air as possible and still achieve proper AFR ratio’s using stock fuel injectors and the stock fuel system. The R&D Monster Wheel is precision CNC Machined for maximum strength while maintaining lighter than stock weight ratios (30 grams lighter than stock).The R&D C15X series compressor wheels will install directly into any 2009-2013 255/260 X supercharger as a “Bolt On” parts kit using basic hand tools. R&D ‘08+ Supercharger Clutch Spring Replacement/Upgrade Kit

The R&D Supercharger Clutch Spring Upgrade Kit will directly replace the O.E.M. clutch spring washers with a new high quality spring washer that is .002” thicker than the O.E.M. spring washer. The R&D Spring Washer Kit will upgrade the slip torque tension of the O.E.M. clutch by an added 2 pounds over stock. The O.E.M. torque slippage settings on the Sea-Doo clutch system is on the low side for hard core recreational riding and performance gains can be noticed with the R&D upgraded tension specification. Upgrading the Clutch Springs is an inexpensive way keep those boost numbers up! The R&D Kit replaces and upgrades all 2008+ superchargers and Sea-Doo shaft kit upgrades.

The R&D High Performance Racing Adjustable Clutch Washer Kit has been developed to offer precision calibration and tuning to the superchargers clutch system. Proper clutch torque slippage tuning will extend clutch life, and insure maximum boost pressures can be reached. The Adjustable Clutch Kit offers three Clutch Washers and two spring washers both in two different thicknesses that can be “performance specification” installed along with a strategic spring washer “stack” assembly specification to accommodate 8-18 Ft Pounds of torque or 96-216 inch pounds of torque. The wide range of adjustability will accommodate any manufacturers suggested clutch setting specification form old school 215 stock (7 P.S.I. ) to 28 pounds of all out racing boost. R&D Pro Series Intercooler Kit

The R&D Pro Series Intercooler Kit has been developed for the 2010-2013 Newer model supercharged Sea-Doo’s. New model Sea-Doo’s come with a small and restrictive intercooler which has been downsized from previous model Sea-Doo intercoolers. Sorry, some things DON’T get better over time. There is hope! The new R&D Pro Series Intercoolers’ oversized core will allow nearly double the amount of unrestricted airflow over a “made in USA” intercooler core that is 1.5 inches wider than the stock restrictive core. This results in a 33 percent increase in “Charged Air Passage” as well as adding 20 percent increase to the “Heat Exchange Area”. The R&D inlet and outlet ports have also been redesigned and improved with two inlet and outlet divider vein ports that will increase velocity and promote even airflow through the core. These flow values prove to be much better than any intercooler stock or aftermarket previously made for Sea-Doo. R&D Supercharger Surge Protector Kit

The R&D Surge Protector Kit will significantly improve supercharger clutch and compressor wheel performance and reliability by eliminating compressor surge. Compressor surge is defined as the negative charge of pressure that causes turbulence in the supercharger that occurs during aggressive of off-throttle operations. When the throttle valve is abruptly closed at high rpms, the engine decelerates quickly down from 8,000 rpms, however the supercharger is compressing air (creating boost) as the supercharger has to decelerate from 42,000 rpms. This turbulence is the primary cause of undue stress on the supercharger clutch system and its components. The R&D surge protection kit utilizes an automotive vacuum assisted pressure blow off valve that automatically releases the unwanted intake pressure between the closed throttle valve and the supercharger. As soon as the throttle valve is opened, the blow off valve immediately closes and the compressor can supply its full boost potentials to the engine.

R&D 50mm Surge/Blowoff Valve Kit

R&D announces the release of the new R&D/Tial 50mm Surge Protector Kit. R&D has been committed to on going research for any part that proves to be an aid in reducing the inherent and well known clutch issues related to running high performance boost wheels and high boost pressures. R&D has noticed a significant reduction in clutch related issues in high boost ranges by “Going Big”. R&D engineers have concluded through endurance testing that the new 50mm R&D/Tial Valve with its huge 50mm lightweight billet aluminum piston, and 6 massive (bigger than any other valve) pressure relief ports, to outperform the smaller (25-35mm) Valves. The trick R&D has found with this valve is, in aggressive off throttle situations with a gear driven supercharger the big Tial 50mm piston responds quickly to allow the reduction of boost pressure which relieves back pressure that can affect the clutch. The new 50mm design also has a much larger diaphragm over HKS and Greddy, which helps the piston react quicker to relieve pressure. If you are running Boost Wheels that produce over 15 pounds of boost, R&D strongly suggests looking into a larger valve setup. It only stands to reason that with higher boost pressures, a larger valve can allow quicker discharge of air volume. R&D Engine Thermostat and Intercooler Cooling Kit

The R&D Engine Thermostat and Intercooler Cooling Kit is one stop shopping to solve several big issues with the OEM cooling system. Engine temperatures on a RXP 260 engine with performance upgrades can reach 190-195 degrees with the stock cooling system. The R&D Kit changes out the stock thermostat for a new cooler 160 degree thermostat. The R&D Kit also separates and re-routes the “intercooler out” and “engine out” water lines to allow less restriction and more water to flow through both the engines exhaust system and the intercooler which promotes cooler exhaust temperatures as well as reducing intake air temperatures. The R&D Kit also includes two new 1/2 inch water bypass fittings for the intercooler in and out lines, one to be used with the kit included high pressure relief valve, and one for the new intercooler water out line. The R&D “high pressure” relief valve will protect the intercooler from being broken due to high water pressure spikes. Cooler engine temperatures, cooler intake air temperatures, and cooler exhaust temperatures all add up to a noticeable RPM and top speed gain.

R&D RRFPR Fuel Pressure Regulator

R&D offers a custom high performance fuel pressure regulator system designed to “bolt on” to the RXP-X/RXT-X 260. The R&D Regulator Kit comes completely assembled with all fuel lines, connectors, and fittings in place and ready to install. The R&D Kit also includes the necessary “Port Plug” to easily block off the stock in tank pressure regulator, and custom “plug on” return line fitting. The R&D regulator bracket will allow the regulator to be installed under the top deck cleanly and out of the way, yet allow fuel pressure tuning access easily accessible. Base fuel pressure is adjustable from 50 to 75 PSI with high pressure spring (installed), and can also be set up as a Rising Rate System (60-75). R&D Fuel Pump Relay Kit

The R&D stand alone “Plug and Play” Fuel Pump Relay Kit will add better overall engine performance to any model Sea-Doo 4-tec four stroke engine regardless of modification level.

Most all High Performance fuel injected cars, motorcycles, four wheelers, ATV’s all have a fuel pump relay system that is “fuel pump specific”. The Sea-Doo does not! Sea-Doo Fuel Pump grounding comes straight from the ecu and power is bus bar shared with up to 10 other devices. The Sea-Doo fuel pump is not grounded via normal high performance specification.

Adding aftermarket fuel pressure regulator systems, fuel injectors, or replacement fuel pumps where any fuel tuning is needed, a higher amp draw will result and the likely possibility of amp draws which are higher than what the ECU evaluates can result in Limp Home situations or ECU damage.

Installing an R&D Fuel Pump Relay Kit will work to use the O.E.M. fuel pump wires as a power and ground source to activate the new stand alone relay. Power or battery (+) to operate the fuel pump will come directly from the battery, and a new grounding circuit will be created and will connect directly to the engines main grounding block. The new R&D Relay Kit will now retain the OEM 10 AMP fuse for the relay, and also carry a 30 AMP fuse which will handle any combination of fuel pressure load or volume of fuel pump.

All Sea-Doo Watercraft with the 4-tec engine package can benefit from this new R&D relay package whether box stock or full race modified. R&D 255 and 340 LPH Fuel Pump Kits will require the installation of a fuel pump relay kit and Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Systems should also use a Fuel Pump Relay.

R&D Inline Fuel Pressure Gauge Adaptor

The R&D Fuel Pressure Gauge Adaptor Tool is designed to be a plug in fuel pressure gauge that needs no modifications to install and use. The adaptor installs inline between the O.E.M. fuel rail and the R&D RRFPR via the OEM connectors for easy connect and disconnect. Simply disconnect the O.E.M. locking fuel connector from the fuel rail and plug the gauge tool directly into the connector. Plug the locking connector supplied on the R&D tool onto the fuel rail and lock. Use the tool to verify fuel pressure and fuel pump condition. Use the tool to set and verify base fuel pressure settings on the R&D Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator (RRFPR). When finished, disconnect the tool and reconnect the stock fuel line. EZ-Slide Bunk Glides

The new R&D EZ-Slide Bunk Glides are designed to mount directly on the top side of the trailer bunks creating a new low friction slippery surface that allows the watercraft to glide on or off the trailer, making loading and unloading a personal watercraft easy. Designed and molded from high density urethane to significantly support the hull surface for proper trailering. The EZ-Slides are black in color and come in a six piece set complete with stainless steel button head mounting hardware. One set needed per watercraft.
