R&D has developed ECU programs to allow new performance levels to be reached for recreational enthusiasts and racers who are interested in “BIG” performance gains through reprogramming the OEM ECU. Don’t trust your ECU to some want-to-be hacker who doesn’t have the facilities, credentials, or experiance. Trust the Pros who actually TEST and RACE these Toys constantly. The R&D ECU Reprogram Service is one of the first performance upgrades that should be done to the new RXT-X 300. The RXP 300 ECU has an internal top speed limit governor that is GPS controlled to only allow 67 mph, as well as a “low ceiling rev limiter setting of 8050 RPM’s. The GPS speed limit governor controls the throttle plate to modulate and restrict airflow CFM volume into the intake plenum which in turn restricts horsepower. R&D has tested and verified that on a box stock 300, the throttle plate modulation controls and limits the boost pressure to 10-12 pounds (depending on temperature/conditions). That said, Horsepower potentials are seriously held back and limited by the stock ecu tune.

The R&D ECU Reprogramming Service will produce some serious horsepower and performance upgrade gains with worked over ignition timing map, re-calibrated fuel maps, increased rev limiter functions to allow increased engine rpm’s, and removed GPS speed control which allows maximum boost pressures to be reached. With the increased rev limiter settings and 1-1 throttle ratio allowed, the boost pressure with the stock supercharger will be up to 15-16+ pounds allowing the Sea-Doo 300 engine to accelerate much quicker out of the hole and pull harder through the mid range with up to 8 mph speed gain. The altered ignition timing and fuel tables safely maximize horsepower performance output in which most tunes can run with 91 octane pump gas. Generally, there is a 9-10 horsepower gain per pound of boost added, this coupled with reworked ignition and fuel tables, a 30-35 horsepower gain can be expected with the R1-R3 ECU Programs. R&D offers the popular R1-R3 ECU Programs in several Rev Limit setup ranges. Please view the charted information offered below for target performance level and rev limit segments offered for specific riding conditions or type of racing.

NOTE: For ECU Packages with 8650+ rev limiter settings, R&D highly recommends upgrading to R&D Valve Spring/Ti Retainers PT# 613-80015.

R&D Boost Box

The R&D Boost Box for 2016 Sea-Doo 260/300 offers a plug and play way to quickly and easily disconnect the engine management systems internal GPS speed limiter to allow “full boost” and a five mile per hour top speed gain! The Sea-Doo 260/300 ECU has an internal acceleration governor and top speed limiter that’s GPS controlled to only allow 67-68 mph. The GPS speed governor works with the ECU to control the throttle plate to modulate and restrict airflow and peak boost from the intake plenum. The R&D Box will unlock and allow 14 pounds boost pressure at 8000 RPM. NOTE: R&D tests reveal the stock boost to be 8-10 pounds at 7400 RPM on 260/300 engines.

R&D Powershot Adjustable Fuel Tuner

R&D Performance Products, U.S.A. announces the release of the new R&D Powershot fuel injection tunning module and fuel controller. The R&D Powershot fuel injection tuner will deliver increased horsepower, acceleration, and stronger mid-range performance by delivering a higher performing air to fuel ratio (A.F.R.) to the engine. Many of today’s high performance fuel injected four stroke muscle craft have a lean A.F.R. R&D Performance has tested, documented, and analyzed the O.E.M. fuel maps on every current fuel injected four stroke watercraft, and pre-programmed and coded the new R&D Powershot fuel injection control module to safely alter the O.E.M. fuel map to a higher performing and safer A.F.R. The R&D RXP 300X Billet Adjustable Pump Cone Kit is a creative new bolt on part that adds 1 full inch of additional length over the OEM cone, and also allows an additional .400” of adjustable tuning range. R&D Pro Series 4” Air Filter Kit

The R&D RXT-X 300 Pro Series 4” Air Filter Kit was designed and developed exclusively for the new Sea-Doo RXT-X 300. The R&D 4” filter kit will unleash restricted low-end, mid-range and peak horsepower by entirely removing the OEM air filtration system and replacing it. The R&D Kit includes a huge 4” “ snap on” rubber velocity stack that allows large 4” Kanaflex flexible hose to be attached to the supercharger and cleanly run to the front of the hull to capture cooler air. The R&D Pro Series 4” Filter Kit has ZERO restriction to the supercharger through its oversized 5.5"x8" filter, which results in quicker acceleration and more power.

R&D Cool Air Vent Plate Kit

The R&D Cool Air Vent Plate Kit was developed to allow super heated hot air that builds up in the back of the hull from the water box, exhaust hoses, supercharger, and coolant reservoir to be quickly and easily vented out of the hull. The R&D Kit allows two large 3” holes to be drilled into the plastic seat base mount. The R&D Kit supplies two Vent Plates that pop rivet securely in place that allows hot air to escape out while muffling sound. R&D has been committed to on going research for any part that proves to be an aid in reducing the inherent and well known clutch and intercooler breakage issues related to running high performance boost wheels and high boost pressures. R&D has noticed a significant reduction in clutch related issues, as well as eliminating intercooler breakage in high boost ranges by “Going Big”. R&D engineers have concluded through endurance testing that the new 50mm R&D/Turbosmart Valve with its huge 50mm lightweight billet aluminum piston, and huge pressure relief ports, to outperform smaller (25-35mm) Valves. R&D’s RC1 Recreational/Racing Camshaft kit offers a great boost in horsepower for the recreational rider/racer who wants as much lift and duration that can be “Bolted In” without valve spring changes or valve guide machining. The secret to the R&D cam lobe is in the precision grind finish on the cams base circle and duration at .050”. Overall lobe Lift and Durations are increased to allow as much lift as possible and still run O.E.M. “uncut” valve guides and O.E.M. valve springs. R&D has improved the lobe profile with “state-of-the-art” technologies that will reduce rocker arm friction and improve rocker arm performance. The R&D “boost friendly” lobe profiles increased lift and duration will produce a noticeable horsepower increases and works well with stock or C15 Monster Wheels. R&D High Performance Titanium Retainers are a must add kit where engine RPM frequencies are sustained over 8350 on Sea-Doo Rotax engines using the stock valve springs such as the Pro Stock Class where stock valve springs must be used. The R&D Retainers will fight against valve float in aggressive water conditions where engine over rev situations elevated. The R&D Titanium Retainers are 500 grams lighter than O.E.M. retainers and considerably stronger. R&D Retainers are designed to properly preload the O.E.M. spring slightly over stock to raise the seat and full lift spring tension which will increase valve control and help to reduce valve float. The R&D Titanium Retainer Kit is designed mainly to work with a stock camshaft and stock valve springs, or camshaft lift specs that are not over .350 lift at the valve. Carrillo High Performance Rods

The new Carrillo Rod for the Sea-Doo 300 engine is an all new forging design which offers larger 3/8 CARR Bolts for superior strength over stock. Carrillo rods are a precision, high strength, quality product that reflects the optimum balance between lightweight and durability. The new Light weight forged design is substantially stronger and lighter than the OEM rod and will deliver the strength needed to perform reliably under high horsepower supercharged and turbo applications. R&D recommends upgrading to performance rods when using the R&D Monster Supercharger Wheel or R&D Turbo Kit. Rod kit comes complete with Silicone Bronze wrist pin bushing and high strength fasteners.

R&D RRFPR Fuel Pressure Regulator

R&D offers a custom high performance fuel pressure regulator system designed to “bolt on” to the RXT-X/RXT-X 300/300. The R&D Regulator Kit comes completely assembled with all fuel lines, connectors, and fittings in place and ready to install. The R&D Kit also includes the necessary “Port Plug” to easily block off the stock in tank pressure regulator, and custom “plug on” return line fitting. The R&D regulator bracket will allow the regulator to be installed under the top deck cleanly and out of the way, yet allow fuel pressure tuning access easily accessible. Base fuel pressure is adjustable from 50 to 75 PSI with high pressure spring (installed), and can also be set up as a Rising Rate System (60-75). The R&D system is very easy to install, and all hardware can be removed and easily put back to stock at any time. Fuel rail and tank return line fittings are O.E.M. push on “snap lock” fitting connectors which will make the R&D Regulator System easy and hassle free to install.

R&D Inline Fuel Pressure Gauge Adaptor

The R&D Fuel Pressure Gauge Adaptor Tool is designed to be a plug in fuel pressure gauge that needs no modifications to install and use. The adaptor installs inline between the O.E.M. fuel rail and the R&D RRFPR via the OEM connectors for easy connect and disconnect. Simply disconnect the O.E.M. locking fuel connector from the fuel rail and plug the gauge tool directly into the connector. Plug the locking connector supplied on the R&D tool onto the fuel rail and lock. Use the tool to verify fuel pressure and fuel pump condition. Use the tool to set and verify base fuel pressure settings on the R&D Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator (RRFPR). When finished, disconnect the tool and reconnect the stock fuel line. The R&D Tool works on all sea-Doo fuel systems. Installation time is only 2 minutes. Liquid filled fuel pressure gauge sold separately.

R&D 650/725cc/1000/1200cc Pro Series Fuel Injector Kit

R&D Pro Series injector kits offer increased fuel delivery over OEM injector sets. The new Pro Series injectors for the Sea-Doo engine are offered in 650cc, 725cc, 1000cc, and 1200cc flow rates. Each set of injectors have been flow rate and voltage comp tested to insure linear accuracy and are shipped with a precision dead time (voltage compensation) chart that can be added into your aftermarket ECU’s software program under battery compensations. R&D Pro Series injectors offer perfectly clean linear response performance from low idle all the way through the entire power range. R&D has tested and verified the OEM Sea-Doo 2011-2016 300& 300 injectors to be 85-90 percent peaked on stock units at sea level without modifications. R&D Pro Series fuel injectors with a higher atomization spray pattern are easily capable of delivering fuel flow specifications to accommodate up to 500 horsepower! NOTE: R&D 650cc Injectors are specifically for 300X engines only, see 300X section for supporting parts.

R&D has flow rate tested the O.E.M. Sea-Doo 260 & 300 injectors and verified them to flow 420 cc at 43 PSI of fuel pressure, which rates them to flow 42 pounds of fuel per hour. R&D has verified the 300 injector to flow 675cc at 56 PSI of fuel pressure which rates the 300 injectors to 67 pounds. The R&D Pro Series Fuel Injectors have been custom fitted to install directly into the OEM fuel rail and intake manifold with no modifications to any parts or wire harness. R&D fuel Injectors perform excellent, delivering precise fuel flow at fuel pressure ratings ranging from 40 to 60 PSI, offering true “Plug and Play” performance. Each R&D injector set is packaged complete with all installation hardware, necessary harness interface connectors, voltage compensation chart, and instructions.

R&D recommends the addition of the R&D Fuel Pump Relay Switch Kit (PT. # 813-35100) for all Sea-Doo high performance builds. High volume fuel pumps and rising rate fuel system set ups will have a higher amp draw over stock. The OEM Sea-Doo ECU will produce a “Limp Home” situation as a result of higher than stock amp draw. The R&D Fuel Pump Relay Kit will allow any high volume fuel pump use, at any fuel pressure, without adverse “Limp Home” Limitations.

R&D Exhaust Manifold X-Tender/O2 Sensor Mount Kit - Now Available

The R&D High Performance Exhaust Manifold Extender with O2 Mount Kit is a creative and unique product that was designed and developed while testing the R&D Superclutch and new R&D high performance compressor wheels. The Sea-Doo supercharger and exhaust systems parts and “J” pipe are extremely difficult to get to and handle when they are extremely hot, and the exhaust systems “J” pipe that must be removed can be tricky on a hot or cold engine. R&D needed to be able to remove and replace the supercharger in five minutes to be able to test products back to back in a timely manner, as well as the same day for accurate testing data. The R&D Exhaust X-Tender Kit allows the exhaust to be extended 2 inches which will move the water muffler back 2 inches creating enough room to be able to change out a supercharger (Hot) in 5 minutes. No more hassling with extremely hot exhaust pipes, water mufflers and V-band clamps! An additional bonus is the oxygen sensor mount incorporated into The X-TENDER, allowing quick and easy installation of an AFR gauge (air/fuel ratio) for properly tuning the X Poweplant. R&D/Innovate Digital Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

Professionally tune your engine with complete confidence. The new gauge utilizes Innovate’s patented 100% digital wideband technology that is faster and more accurate than analog designs. To put this into perspective, at 8000rpm the Digital MTX gauge will see a change in air/fuel ratio 24 revolutions of the crankshaft sooner than all other gauges on the market! Several new features have also been added to the gauge design including an integrated wideband controller for simplified installation. By integrating the wideband controller within the gauge, the 02 sensor can now be plugged directly to the gauge via the 8 foot long interface cable. In addition, the included O2 sensor is compatible with all popular fuel types and can be quickly and easily calibrated to compensate for sensor wear, changes in atmosphere or other variables.
