Parts/Kit Overview

The R&D Yamaha GP 1300R Stage 1 Kit was developed to improve overall handling, reduce pump cavitation, and increase top speed performance over a Performer Kit with safe, bolt on engine modifications! The entire stage 1 Kit installs quickly and easily with basic hand tools, retains great reliability, and is 92-Octane pump gasoline safe.

  • The R&D GP 1300R Ride Plate is extended and re-angled over stock to reduce porpoising while adding top speed. The R&D GP 1300R Ride Plate is the only aftermarket design to dominate in Offshore, National, and World Championships, and to be used and endorsed by Factory Yamaha racing teams for 5 years!

  • The R&D Ride Plate Trim Pads are redesigned and extended over stock to reduce porpoising while adding top speed performance. Smoother high speed cornering
    Is also significantly enhanced.

  • The R&D Aquavein Intake Grate Kit will substantially reduce cavitation, increase overall handling dramatically and add a 3 to 4 mph average top speed in choppy water conditions!

  • The R&D Pump Shoe Sealer Kit was developed to quickly and easily fill the large casting pockets left in the Yamaha GP 1300R’s pump shoe inlet. Installing the R&D pump shoe sealer kit and resealing the pump shoe will reduce low and high-speed cavitation, which will increase overall handling!

  • The R&D Anti-Cavitation Cone was developed to reduce low speed pump cavitation, which will increase acceleration and pump efficiency.

  • The R&D GP 1300R D-Plate was designed to replace the O.E.M. Catalizer system with a simple bolt on part. The R&D Catalizer Removal Plate increases overall performance, allows you to use your choice of oils (many types of PWC oil will harm the O.E.M. catalizer) and increase top speed!

  • The R&D H20 Flow Control Gasket assembles in the lower portion of the housing, which will restrict the excessive amount of water flowing into the water resonator. The new R&D H20 Flow Control Gasket will deliver cleaner and snappier throttle response, which will produce quicker acceleration, and stronger mid range power.

  • The R&D/Solas 13/19 Impeller replaces the O.E.M. 4-blade impeller with a sleeker, better performing 3-blade design! Improved low-end response and increased top speed performance of 1 mph plus!

  • The R&D GP 1300R Variable Chamber Cylinder Head Kit was developed to raise each individual cylinders compression ratio to a safe level with more power and increased RPMs. R&D cast aluminum heads run safely and detonation free on 92-octane pump gasoline. The R&D V.C. Heads are girdle kit optional. Part # 412-12000

  • The R&D GP 1300R Power Stack Air Filter Kit is designed to assemble on to the front of the O.E.M. air plenum box. The R&D Power Stack adds bottom and mid range power performance while increasing engine RPM’s.

  • The R&D GP 1300R E.F.I. Fuel Control Unit was developed to deliver increased fuel volume to areas in the fuel map where lean conditions exist. The E.F.I. fuel control unit is not mandatory on Stage 1 kits. However, dyno and water testing have confirmed a significant boost in low-end power on Stage 1 kits. It’s a great add on option at any time.

  • The R&D GP 1300R Pro Series Sponson kit incorporates an industry first, 15 position adjustable design, which will allow more precision blade and backing plate adjustments. The best sponson kit available for a GP 1300R.

  • The R&D GP 1300R VTS/Automatic Drop Nozzle System is completely adjustable to suit any type of riding style or conditions. The system offers an adjustable automatic nozzle drop for smooth cornering, and allows the O.E.M. VTS (quick shift) to be used to adjust nozzle positions in the O.E.M. 5 degree increments while straight line riding! This is an industry first and a must have part for a GP 1300R!

NOTE: To properly install the R&D Ride Plate, or the Solas 13/19 Impeller, it will be necessary to install the R&D 87 mm GP Series Venturi Nozzle. Part # 162-13587

NOTE: Higher performing engines, and/or heavily carboned exhaust systems put out more exhaust heat, which may cause the O.E.M. Cat overheat warning sensor to activate prematurely. To deactivate the Cat overheat sensor, install the R&D Cat sensor chip. Part # 802-12001

NOTE: The O.E.M. power valves are manufactured from a cast aluminum material and are notorious for shearing or breaking after 40-50 hours, creating costly engine damage! R&D manufactures a redesigned 6061-T6 Billet aluminum power valve, and power valve lifter arm kit that adds low-end power, and assurance against breakage! Part # 332-13000

NOTE: The R&D Anti-Cavitation Cone will reduce overall pump cavitation, which will create greater low and mid-range pump thrust, which increases acceleration. Fine tuning to the steering nozzle angle adjustment can be done by lowering the steering nozzle angle by one degree down from the standard 90 degrees (straight) position. This will help keep the GPR driving forward and flat under hard acceleration.

NOTE: R&D offers a high performance cooling kit for the GP 1300R, which will add an additional 1/2 inch water line. The R&D cooling kit comes complete with a billet aluminum cooling strainer block, precut water line, brass fittings, through hull fitting, weld mount fitting, and clamps. The R&D high performance cooling kit is a great addition to any level of performance package, and will help keep the GPR engine temperatures down to safe levels producing better overall performance and adding reliability! NOTE: For a full ten plus horsepower gain across the entire RPM range with an incredible boost in low end acceleration and performance, update the 03-04 GP1300R with the 2005 GP1300R header pipe section and R&D Exhaust Power Sleeve! More horsepower with reduced detonation! The 2005 Yamaha GP1300R O.E.M. header pipe section is part # 60T-14712-10-94. The R&D 2005 Yamaha GP1300R Exhaust Power Sleeve is part # 332-13000.

NOTE: For improved pump hook up and top speed performance gains, update the 2003/2004 GP1300R to 2005 GP1300R parts and specifications! Install the new 2005 Yamaha GP1300R Large Hub (75 mm) pump along with the new R&D Solas 14/20 Dynafly Impeller and R&D Anti-cavitation Cone! Yamaha’s new large hub pump part # 6B6-51315-00-94. R&D Solas 14/20 Dynafly Impeller part # 142-11420. R&D Large Hub Anti-Cavitation Pump Cone part # 162-16000.
