Parts/Kit Overview

The R&D Yamaha GP 1300R Stage 5 Kit was developed to deliver the most possible horsepower and top speed with bolt on parts (i.e. no porting, decking, special pistons, or crankwork)! All of the bolt on accessories in the Stage 5 Kit install reasonably easy with basic hand tools. The R&D Stage 5 Kit will add significantly to the entire power range over the R&D Stage 4 Kit. The increased compression ratio and horsepower will require the substantial amount of additional fuel the R&D E.F.I. Control Unitís Stage 5 settings will deliver. The R&D Free Flow Exhaust will be necessary to reduce water resonator back pressure. Increased throttle response, acceleration, and top speed are significantly noticed! The Stage 5 Kit produces great horsepower throughout the entire range. The Stage 5 Kit retains great reliability, however, high grade 92 plus pump gasoline should be used exclusively! Extensive testing proved Chevron 92 Techron to be the best overall! Extensive testing of the Stage 5 Kit proved that the 14/20 Solas Impeller repitched to a new spec of 15/22 to be the most economical and best overall performing impeller. The R&D Stage 5 Kit retains the O.E.M. oil injection system.

  • The R&D GP 1300R Ride Plate is extended and re-angled over stock to reduce porpoising while adding top speed. The R&D GP 1300R Ride Plate is the only aftermarket design to dominate in Offshore, National, and World Championships, and to be used and endorsed by Factory Yamaha racing teams for 5 years!

  • The R&D Ride Plate Trim Pads are redesigned and extended over stock to reduce porpoising while adding top speed performance. Smoother high speed cornering is also significantly enhanced.

  • The R&D Aquavein Intake Grate Kit will substantially reduce cavitation, increase overall handling dramatically and add a 3 to 4 mph average top speed in choppy water conditions!

  • The R&D Pump Shoe Sealer Kit was developed to quickly and easily fill the large casting pockets left in the Yamaha GP 1300Rís Pump Shoe Inlet. Installing the R&D Pump Shoe Sealer Kit and resealing the pump shoe will reduce low and high-speed cavitation, which will increase overall handling!

  • The R&D Triple Cooling Block Kit will allow two additional water cooling lines to be connected to the pump housing with a bolt on part. The cooling block kit on the R&D Stage 5 Kit utilizes 1 additional Ĺ hose line from the pump and run through the R&D Ĺ hull fitting, and connects into the main FPP water line collector.

  • The R&D GPR FPP Dual Cooling Kit has all the necessary hose, hose clamps, fittings, and Ĺ aluminum through hull fitting to properly add an extra Ĺ water cooling line, and water bypass lines!

  • The R&D GP 1300R 46cc Pro Series Precision Cast Aluminum Cylinder Heads are the best way to boost compression ratios economically! Dyno test results have proven that cast heads have less detonation than expensive billet aluminum heads! The R&D Cast Cylinder Heads are girdle kit optional! GP 1300R Girdle Kit Part # 412-12000

  • R&D GP 1300R Free Flow Exhaust is a required kit with higher horsepower output engine kits! Reduces water resonator back pressure and heat! Adds a great performance sound.

  • The R&D GP 1300R E.F.I. Fuel Control Unit was developed to deliver increased fuel volume to areas in the fuel map where lean conditions exist. The E.F.I. fuel control unit is mandatory on Stage 2 and up kits. Dyno and water testing have confirmed a significant boost in low-end power on all kits.

  • The R&D GP 1300R Power Plenum Filter Kit will add to low and mid-range power, and add a high performance tone or sound. The R&D Power Plenum Filter Kit is necessary on Factory Pipe equipped boats to allow proper clearance with the #3 pipe. The R&D Filter Kit also provides an air temp sensor boss necessary to install the O.E.M. air temp sensor for proper fuel calibration!

  • The R&D GP 1300R M-16 Reed Valve Kit will add a significant increase in low-end horsepower between 2000 and 6000 RPMs, as well as boost the peak horsepower range. The R&D M-16 Reed System incorporates a completely redesigned Billet Intake Manifold, which alleviates the O.E.M. manifoldís crossover design, which will add an increase of 100 peak RPMs. No other reed valve or intake system produces more horsepower gains, or is more reliable. The R&D M-16 Reed Valve Systemís technology is backed by 2 National and 3 World Championships in the Pro 1200 Super-stock class.

  • The Factory Pipe Products GP 1200R/1300R Triple Exhaust Kit will add a huge boost of 40-50 additional horsepower to a stock GP 1300R engine. NOTE: Must use 15/22 or higher degree impeller to reduce the cavitation created by the additional 60 horsepower the Stage 5 Kit produces.

  • The R&D GP 1300R 87 mm Pump Exit Nozzle is 1.5 mm larger than the O.E.M. Exit Nozzle, which measures approximately 85.5-86 mm. The R&D Exit Nozzle will work well on GP 1300Rís with 14/20 or higher degree impeller pitches. The R&D Venturi Nozzle has the additional clearance needed to bolt on the R&D Pro Series Ride Plate.

  • The R&D Anti-Cavitation Cone was developed to reduce low speed pump cavitation which will increase acceleration and pump efficiency.

  • The R&D/Solas 15/22 Concord Impeller Option will produce the fastest top speeds over any other impeller. Note: Skat-Trak 12 Vein SPC GP 1300R Pump System, along with Skat-Trak 16.5/24 Swirl Impeller, and the O.E.M. GP 1300R Nozzle also works well to reduce low speed cavitation. The Skat-Trak SPC 1300R Pump assembly produces the same top speed as the R&D/Solas 15/22 Impeller.

  • The R&D GP 1300R Pro Series Sponson Kit incorporates an industry first, 15 position adjustable design, which will allow more precision blade and backing plate adjustments. The best sponson kit available for a GP 1300R.

  • The R&D GP 1300R VTS/Automatic Drop Nozzle System is completely adjustable to suit any type of riding style or conditions. The system offers an adjustable automatic nozzle drop for smooth cornering, and allows the O.E.M. VTS (quick shift) to be used to adjust nozzle positions in the O.E.M. 5 degree increments while straight line riding! This is an industry first and a must have part for a GP 1300R!

NOTE: To properly install the R&D Ride Plate, or the R&D/Solas 15/22 Impeller, it will be necessary to install the R&D 87mm GP Series Venturi Nozzle. Part # 162-13587

NOTE: If using the Skat-Trak GP 1300R SPC Pump, it will be necessary to modify the O.E.M. GP 1300R Nozzle for proper ride plate clearance. See R&D GP 1300 Ride Plate installation instructions for the proper modification procedure.

NOTE: Higher performing engines, and/or heavily carboned exhaust systems put out more exhaust heat, which may cause the O.E.M. Cat overheat warning sensor to activate prematurely. To deactivate the Cat Overheat Sensor, install the R&D Cat Sensor Chip. Part # 802-12001

NOTE: The O.E.M. Power Valves are manufactured from a cast aluminum material and are notorious for shearing or breaking after 40-50 hours, creating costly engine damage! R&D manufactures a redesigned 6061-T6 Billet aluminum Power Valve, and Power Valve Lifter Arm Kit that adds low-end power, and assurance against breakage! Part # 332-13000
